AI Alerts — Real-Time Reputation Monitoring and Hallucination Detection
Citadex Alerts monitors AI platforms for hallucinations about your brand, competitor interceptions, visibility drops, and entity clarity issues. Learn how to set up and respond to each alert type.
AI Reputation Monitoring and Alerts
The Alerts module is your early warning system for AI reputation risks. It monitors for events that could harm your brand's AI visibility or accuracy, and serves them as actionable notifications with specific fix recommendations.
The 6 Alert Types
🔵 Competitor Intercept
An AI platform has shifted to recommending a competitor in contexts where you previously appeared, or a competitor is now ranked above you for a keyword where you used to rank higher.
How to respond: Open Competitor Analysis with the specific competitor and keyword pre-loaded. Analyze their structural advantages and use Content Studio to create superior, more entity-rich content.
🔴 Visibility Anomaly
Your visibility score on one or more platforms has dropped significantly (>10 points) compared to the previous check.
How to respond: Check the Visibility module for which platform dropped and which queries are now missing you. Run a fresh scan on your key pages to check for new technical issues.
🟣 Entity Clarity Issue
AI responses about your brand are inconsistent, vague, or incorrect in how they describe what you do, who you serve, or what makes you different.
How to respond: Review your homepage and main product pages for entity clarity. Ensure you have clear, definitive "what is X" statements and complete Organization + Product schema.
🟡 Coverage Risk
Your brand has dropped below a threshold coverage rate for an important keyword category, or is not appearing in AI responses for queries where you should be present.
How to respond: Expand your content coverage for the affected topics. Create new FAQ content and improve existing pages.
🩷 Reputation Risk (Hallucination Alert)
AI platforms are generating negative, inaccurate, or misleading content about your brand — what the industry calls "AI hallucinations."
How to respond: Document the exact hallucination (screenshot + exact prompt). Publish authoritative content that directly contradicts the false information. Submit corrections through the AI platform's feedback mechanisms. Build authoritative citations that establish the correct facts.
🟢 Opportunity
A positive signal — a topic where your brand has unexpectedly appeared in AI recommendations, or where your visibility has increased significantly.
How to respond: Investigate what changed and replicate the successful pattern across other keyword categories.
Alert Priority Levels
- Urgent — Requires action within 24–48 hours (hallucinations, significant visibility drops)
- Standard — Address within the week
- Informational — Review during your weekly monitoring session
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How quickly will I be alerted to a hallucination?
Alerts are generated based on scheduled or manual Visibility checks. For maximum protection, set up daily automated checks on your project.
Q: Can I dismiss or archive alerts?
Yes. Each alert card has dismiss and archive options. Dismissed alerts don't count toward your unread total but remain in the alert history.
Q: What's the best way to handle a competitor intercept?
Start by analyzing exactly which query and platform the intercept occurred on. Use Competitor Analysis to examine the competing brand's content structure, then create more specific, entity-rich content for that exact use case.
